Performance with green screen for live broadcast, 8mins, 2014
Commissioned for Field Broadcast, Somatic Practice displays a series of dangerous natural events via a green-screen manoeuvred around a quarry space by the performer. From off screen, the voice of middle class man directs the performer and suggests possible lifestyle changes the performer might think about adopting: ‘think about your health’, ‘think about getting off the bus a stop early’, ‘think about your liver.’ The final video displayed on the green screen shows a man leaping into a bear enclosure and being mauled to death.
